The Left’s Tactics

Saturday, April 2nd, 2011

After Joseph Stalin’s death, his horrendous record of mass murder began to become common knowledge in the Soviet Union.  When Nikita Kruschev finally achieved secure command of the country, he started to de-Stalinize the Communist giant.

As he was speaking at a Supreme Soviet meeting detailing Stalin’s Terror Tactics over a span of four decades, someone in the back of the room shouted, “Why didnt you do something to stop him?!?”

Kruschev stopped and glared, “Who said that?!?” he asked.  The room became silent immediately, and then Kruschev replied, “That is why no one did anything to stop Stalin.”

This story reminded me of two issues that are working their away across our Tarheel State now.

Intimidation is always a tactic of the Left.  Benjamen Jealous, director of the NAACP, recently spoke in Winston-Salem and went so far as to accuse the W-S Forsyth County School System of being racist due to statistics on minority suspensions.  Within weeks, it was announced the Fedl Dept of Education will come to town to investigate civil rights of minority students based on the statistics.

As someone who has spent 10 yrs in the high school classroom, these tactics are despicable.  Spend some time in your local school. Sit in on classes.  Teachers are there to teach.  You dont choose your students; you play the hand that is dealt.  There are great kids and there are the incessant disrupters.  The student who disrupts is dealt w/ in a variety of ways before suspension.  Disruptions come from all kinds of kids but you cannot deny patterns.  Asians seldom disrupt, both genders.  Hispanics likewise, both genders.  White girls rank next statistically at the bottom.  White boys, Black girls, and Black boys make up the greatest number of disruptions.  I personally feel upbringing and discipline in the home make the most difference as to what can be handled by the teacher and what has to be turned over to the principal.  The principals have their own list of discipline tactics before they turn to suspension.

This NAACP action backed up w/ Fedl intervention is nothing more than Scare Tactics. If the NAACP would spend more time promoting the Black Family and Education for minorities rather than undermining Educators’ efforts to reach children w/ not only academics but discipline the country might actually move forward into the 21st century.

Ideology is a bad word when Conservatives on the Forsyth County School Board plan a series of workshops supported by Civitas.  But what about the Left’s long term control of the state govt in NC?  Who doesnt understand the Left’s “Ideology”?  Can you deny they have had a long term Agenda?

What about Gay Rights groups gaining a foothold in our public schools?  What about NAACP witch hunts?  What about “More At Four”?  What about Public Tax Money used for Daycare?  What about former First Lady Hillary Clinton’s “It Takes A Village” statements on raising and shaping children??

Conservatives cannot be silenced as they have in the past.  Our views are just as important. Conservative ideology is based on traditional doctrines and institutions that were successful for centuries. They have a right to be expressed w/o fear.

Some Things To Think About From Civitas

Monday, September 14th, 2009

*  NC ranked 39th in business climate before new 2009-10 taxes, according to the non-partisan Tax Foundation.  Our neighbors rank: Virginia 15th, South Carolina 25th, and Georgia 27th.
*  Since 2004, NC budget spending has outpaced the rate of inflation plus population growth by $9 billion.  Since 1996, state budgeted spending per person has risen by 25% even after adjusting for inflation.
*  In the NC State Legislature, sexual orientation is protected in a so-called “Bullying” bill while the Defense of Marriage Act cannot even be debated in committee.
