Traditional Marriage Amendment In Tarheel State

Sunday, February 19th, 2012

For those who believe Jesus just showed up in History as a baby in Bethlehem, God’s Old Testament Law means little.  But Christ Jesus is God’s Son and existed in eternity past with the Father. He shows up throughout the Old Testament; that is called a theophany.  God’s Law and Christ’s teaching are compatible and consistent throughout the Book.

For those who teach Jesus allowed anything to go in relationships as long as love was involved with total disregard to Leviticus and Deuteronomy, study these words:  But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause [marriage] shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife; and the two shall be one flesh: so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man tear apart.

Statistically, traditional couples can shack up as same-sex couples do, and that is wrong, but New Testament scripture does not leave space for same-sex marriages and those letters are in red.

Obama’s War On Religion?!?

Thursday, February 16th, 2012

The “war” President Obama has declared on religion is now in its 2nd week, although supposedly the administration has signaled a truce w/ the Roman Catholic Church.  Let me declare here forthwith, I am a Born-again Believer; I am not a Catholic. I have been a Baptist and remain an adherent to the doctrines, although I have become non-denominational.  That said, I offer a series of questions concerning this “war” on religion and the adjacent issues concerning it.

*At issue is not contraception per se, although that is where the Democrat party has took it, and particularly feminist women.  Contraception seems common sensical to me particularly in the modern age (we are no longer an agrarian society).  The use of condoms, the pill, and inter-uterine devices are designed to space children out in a family; control the size of a family; prevent unwanted pregnancy, and (w/ condoms) prevent venereal diseases.  Several generations of people– atheists, humanists, Protestants, and yes, 80% of Catholic women it seems, have used these means of contraception for the states reasons–  married and unmarried.  I abhor abortion in all its forms and remain opposed to the so-called ‘morning after’ pill.

*The issue is spiritual:  The Roman Catholic Faith teaches that artificial contraception is wrong and therefore should not be used among its flock.  In our Constitutional Democratic Republic, even Catholics remain free to do as they choose according to their conscience. It appears they do.  BUT, that does not mean the Government has the authority to force the Catholic Church to supply its employees w/ contraceptives through its health care coverage. It does not matter constitutionally what kind of entity it is , church, hospital, university, charity, if the Catholic church owns and operates it. It does not matter whether the employees are Catholics or non-Catholics.  The Catholic Church has the right to deny services or products it deems as ’sinful’ to its employees according to the 1st amendment to the Constitution.

* If the Administration is allowed to force this action on the Catholic Faith, further issues will rain down on Protestant and Baptist denominations in time. It is the precedent that matters. Gov’t work incrementally to usurp authority and tyranny to creep in.

* The Obama adminstration’s compromise is to say the Church does not have to pay for the products in the insurance coverage, it will be provided by the insurance carrier FREE OF CHARGE.  And just how is that to be carried out??  Will Liberals and Socialists never understand NOTHING IS FREE?!?!  Nothing in life is free! Everything is paid for somehow and by somebody.

*Can insurance carriers be forced to provide Catholic employees with a product FREE OF CHARGE??  Will the Roman Church be forced to provide it in their coverage?

*Can Americans be forced to buy health insurance policies when their employers do not offer it?  What if they cannot afford it?  How do you force them to take it out? How do you force them to keep it in force? How do you force them to pay the premiums?

* Who is footing the bill for those who cannot afford the gov’t enforced policies?

These are questions brought about by Government bent on moving toward welfare state socialism.  The GOP has made moves in that direction as well, maybe not as pronounced but blood is on their hands as well.  These questions must be answered and soon or our Republic is done for as we’ve known it.  Let your Congressman know how you feel…

KulturKampf

Sunday, February 5th, 2012

Nations have cultures- social characteristics that shape its political and spiritual outlooks. Our American republic appears to be nearing the end of a Kulturkampf that began in the 1960s. Puritan Pilgrims at Plymouth; the Great Awakening; the Founding Fathers’ “certain inalienable rights” “endowed by our Creator” prove without question Christian influence at the dawn of our Republic.  Even the Jefferson letter, with its “wall of separation” phrase, was a reassurance to Baptists that religious liberty would not be infringed on by government.        The God of the Bible permeated every aspect of American culture through the First World War.  Common Christian beliefs were promoted without regard to sect or denomination across racial and social stratum. Prescient political leaders denied any one denomination of Christianity to take official precedence.  The American government paid due respect to foreign religions when necessary, for example American Indians and Barbary Coast “Mohommedans”. Modernism crept in during the Twenties, and gained energy during the Sixties.         Lose the Kulturkampf”, forsake America’s Christian culture. Remove the Bible as a textbook and sanctioned prayer from the schools. Legalize abortion and subsidize it even.  Ban prayer from government meetings and the Cross from monuments.  Let homosexual groups recruit your kids.  Middle class young people, white and black, are now defending sodomite marriage and adoption in greater numbers publicly.  The institution of Marriage originated with God therefore Man has no right to alter the definition.  Go ahead and sow in the wind, but understand you will reap the whirlwind.
