Why Build A Mosque Near Sept 11 Site?

Author: admin

After reading an article regarding plans for the new mosque in Manhattan near the World Trade Ctr site,  I researched the history behind previous mosques built and discovered some fascinating details.

After Muhammad captured Mecca, his Muslim army claimed the Ka’aba as their own shrine.  It had long been a place of worship for polytheistic Arab tribes.  It was full of idols particularly to the moon god (hence the crescent symbol in Islam).

When the Muslim Arabs captured Jerusalem, they built the Dome Mosque on the Jewish Temple Mount the site of Solomon’s Temple.

When the Muslim Arabs captured Damascus Syria, they tore down the basilica dedicated to John the Baptist and built the Grand Mosque.  Supposedly the head of John is still enshrined there, as well as the grave of Saladin.

NOW, the Muslim community wants to build a 13 story mosque in Manhattan near the Sept 11 World Trade Center site.  Do you see any type of a pattern here??  Look it all up for yourself…..    very interesting
