I, until very recently, never really questioned who were the “good guys” and “bad guys” in the war between the States. Obviously the North, who fought against the slave states was in the right, right? The reality is that in the wake of our civil war, statism and progressivism has all but destroyed the foundations of the constitutional republic, and eroded the freedoms of the common man. Its hard to justify the cause of slavery, but I fear to reverse the track to socialism may yet require another civil war in this America as those who pay the taxes are not those who elect the leaders.
