The Liberal View On STDs

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

“I have to be honest; this is pretty bad.  We are in the middle of a really serious syphilis outbreak, and we’re very, very, very concerned about it”, said Evelyn Foust, director of the communicable-diseases branch of the NC Dept of Health & Human Services.

Syphilis cases in NC number 684 for the first nine months of 2009.  That is nearly double the number from last year over the same period of time.  National statistics “mirror”  the NC numbers showing a drastic rise in syphilis as well as other STDs rising across the nation.  And what is the blame for this increase?

“We are having this problem again because of a lack of commitment and investment”, Foust continued.   Technically, she is correct.  She was talking about the cut in funds for dealing with the problem of STDs.  With the Swine Flu scare, money was shifted away from specific STDs to flu vaccinations.  There is still a focus on HIV, although the state still received $600,000 to spend toward HIV/ STDs.

It is not a lack of money causing this rapid increase in the spread of these sexually transmitted diseases.  It is a lack of commitment to monogomous relationships.  It is a dearth of investment in physical relationships only within the bounds of marriage.   The answer is not more tax funds, but increased faithfulness to the plan God spelled out for human interaction. Abstinence before marriage and monogomy within marriage is the answer.  Renewed commitment to this philosophy would eradicate nearly all STD cases including the deadly HIV .  When will Liberals ever see the light on these issues?

2 Out of 3 Ain’t Bad

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

“I want you–  I need you;  but there ain”t no way I’m ever gonna love you.  Now don’t be sad.  Don’t be sad; ’cause two out of three ain’t bad…”    That’s my favorite Meatloaf song, and it could be the Rockefeller Republican theme song.  The Country Club Republican and the blatant RINO generally understands they need Conservatives to win general elections.  They want us to show up and vote on election day for whoever the Establishment puts on the ticket.  But there is no love lost for us on their part.  We’re the ugly step-sister; we’re the crazy aunt.  We’re the Holy Rollers… the neanderthals stopping the moderate progression of American society.

The conservative Republican won big in Virginia’s governor race; hopefully, proving last year’s Virginia win for President Obama was an aberration not a sign of things to come.  Even more surprising was the Republican win in New Jersey. Governor Corzine, a traditional Liberal was defeated by the Republican candidate in spite of Obama campaigning in the Garden State several times.  Conservative candidate Hoffman lost the 23rd NY US House race by less than 3% of the votes. If Scozzafava, the pro-abortion and pro-gay rights RINO, had dropped out earlier her 5% of the votes could have given the Conservative a victory. Instead, she dropped out the Saturday before the election, and on Sunday, supported the liberal Democrat candidate.  A Pox on her house.

We can only hope, these races are a harbinger of what is to come in 2010 and 2012.  The Conservatives, the Tea Party movement, and the Libertarians need to keep up the pace they have begun since the summer.  Beat the RINOs in primaries and run strong general elections offering a better path to prosperity and peace than that of the Liberals.
